“Gakuto-kun and Mayumi-chan Line” (buses)
In Motomiya City, there is a bus route connecting Motomiya City and Koriyama City, called “Gakuto-kun and Mayumi-chan Line”.
You can go to the front of Koriyama Station from Motomiya City Office.
Buses run six round trips on weekdays and four round trips on weekends and holidays.

The bus fare can be paid with cash or a NORUCA card.
You can buy a NORUCA Card in Motomiya City Community Center (MOCO Station). Charge money to this card to use it.

There is a bus service that runs through the Motomiya city. You are free to get on and off the bus in the course of the route of the bus.
How to get on /off the bus
- To get on a bus, raise your hand to alert the driver.
- To get off the bus, speak directly to the driver.

Train
In Motomiya City, there are two train stations; (1) Motomiya Station and (2) Gohyakugawa Station.

Trains are bound for Fukushima or Koriyama areas.Check the website for the timetable.
To get on the train, you need a ticket or an IC card (such as Suica card).
You can buy a ticket at the station.
You can buy an IC card from the ticket office (Midori-no-madoguchi). Ask a station staff at Motomiya Station.
Driver’s license
A foreign license can be converted to a Japanese license.
You need to make an appointment in advance.

* Those who have driver license of certain countries can apply for conversion at Koriyama Driver License Center. Inquire over phone for which countries’ driver licenses are applicable.
Bicycle
You have to register your bicycle for theft prevention registration at places where bicycles are sold or at a police station.
The bicycle theft prevention registration allows you to prove that the one you ride is your own bicycle.

The insurance company will pay money if you injure or kill someone else in an accident.
