Registration of seal
In Japan, when you enter into a very important agreement, such as buying or selling a house, you need a registered seal called a “jitsuin” instead of a signature.
If you need a “jitsuin”, bring your seal to the municipal office for registration.
The registered seal will be your “jitsuin”.
You will receive the “Seal Registration Card” upon registration of your “jitsuin”.
Bring your “seal registration card” to the municipal office when you need the “Seal Registration Certificate”.
What to bring
Seal Identification document (such as Residence Card, passport and driver’s license)
